Dressed in ballgowns, tuxedos and “Make Bitcoin Great Again” baseball caps, a crowd of cryptocurrency executives gathered a few blocks from the White House for a lavish party three days before President Donald Trump’s inauguration, toasting an incoming administration that had vowed to promote the industry’s interests.
But the crypto millionaires and billionaires were caught off guard by what happened next.

I agree that Trump is good for healthcare. Good move.

It’s unlikely I’ll watch a 30+ minute podcast style lecture from a random podcaster to ferret out what it is that makes you happy.

Followed by:
There’s a transcript. Read it.

From another voice:
I see you telling people there’s a transcript; the trouble is, YouTube changed its interface and the transcript isn’t discoverable, at least by me. I listened to a few minutes; it struck me as interesting and informative.
But not enough for me to spend 35 minutes with it. I think it would benefit me to read your take and perhaps some key takeaways.
A member claims this comes from the video:
“Trump comes to power and everyone screams the sky is falling the sky is falling oh Elon gave a Nazi salute no he didn’t he did not and the sky is not falling and you need to relax and if you’re going to act hysterical every time they do anything you’re going to be exhausted and you’re going to be ineffective you actually have no sense of what’s good or what’s bad policy…”

Dr Prasad has a biostatistical background. Even he admits he can sometimes go past the edge, I favor his understanding of the politics of withdrawal from the WHO.

Tariffs are being discussed elsewhere in this forum; however, a few stray thought are showing up here:

What about globalization?

Basically, I’m OK with nations. Fundamentally, I like being an American; usually.
I don’t see how nations will ever cease to be nations. I’ve often noodled about how it could be possible to erase the lines we’ve drawn on maps; these lines that perpetually divide us.
At some point, we have to figure out how to remedy the demagogic wedges of national pride, religious pride, and political pride.
Perhaps we’ll come together after becoming a one-world nation; I don’t see how that would be feasible; that would be a really dumb.
I hope that’s not our destiny.
“Pardoning the people who went into the Capitol and beat up a police officer violently I think was a mistake, because it seems to suggest that’s an OK thing to do,” Graham told NBC News’ “Meet the Press.”
Graham tied Trump’s decision to pardon violent offenders with former President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon several of his family members during his last few hours in office last week.
“You know, Biden pardoned half his family going out the door. I think most Americans, if this continues … will revisit the pardon power of the president, if this continues,” Graham told “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker.
He added, “As to pardoning violent people who beat up cops, I think that’s a mistake.”
Ethan Nordean—another Proud Boys leader who allegedly helped lead the attack at the Capitol—responded, “Yup, Day of the Rope,” referring to a day of mass lynching of “race traitors” in the white supremacist novel The Turner Diaries.
“Highly Recommended!”

A member laments, as he will do for quite some time, that the Democrats and others opposing Trump, DOGE and etc, etc, etc… will continue to focus on meaningless things.
